For front wheel drive cars that have lots of understeer, a rear sway bar is a really great upgrade. This is the best bang for buck upgrade for any FF (Front engine, Front wheel drive) car.
Let me introduce Megan Racing’s 19 inch rear sway bar for 11th gen corollas. Part Number: MRS-TY-1710
Super easy to install, but with one Caveat.
Jack up your car...
in the rear using the rear axel as a lifting point. Putt safety stands on both sides. Get your tools ready with the sway bar nearby. An impact gun and 22mm impact socket is all you need! Also, make sure your car is in gear. The front tires will be holding your car in place, so it deos not roll. Can chauk front tires too.
Take off two sway bar bolts
Take your impact gun, not impact driver, with 22mm impact socket and take these two bolts off. You can discard the middle black rubber piece. I could not get that to fit the new thicker bar.
It's as easy as pie.
Put the new rear sway bar, put the two bolts back on, then use a socket driver with 22mm socket to tighten them on. Use the impact gun to do a final tightening session.
Test drive it and if you...
hear clunking noises in the rear, then you need to tighten up those two rear sway bar bolts again.
This upgrade will be noticeable when taking corners and change lanes on the highway. Wish we had mountains nearby Dallas Texas! However, even here I can notice a difference and can find some curvy roads to take in the country side. This along with lowering springs and front strut bar are the first mods I would do to any 11th gen!
