Corolla is almost Ready!
We are so close! New Piston rings and drilled out piston oil holes as much as I could. Put water in radiator, oil inside engine, everything finished! It started like I never even worked on her.
Tried out exhaust clamps with copper sealant
Need a Welder...
This worked for a good 10 minutes. Then one started leaking really bad. It leaked so bad that at idle the car would eventually die. My plan is to slowly acquire welding supplies, flux core welder, 30 amp 2 pole breaker, 220 vold outlet, and the cables. My 20 amp 1 pole breaker lasts around 5 seconds before tripping. I imagine this is a common issue.
However, my welder also supports 220 volts, so I can run lower amps! Goal is to practice on old exhaust pipes more when I get the 220 volt circuit installed and get my helmet. I can't look at that! It kills my eyes!
SSimder Welder checks Out
Here's my dog chewing the box with new welder inside. It does flux and stick welding and it's DC output. Using IGBT inverter for low power consumption. Highly recommend 220 volt power supply, which I will have a short how-to on how I did mine.
My Dog and I Like this little welder
This might be an older model. It’s their MIG-140S.Seems to be a newer version of this on Ssimder’s site. Again that’s an affiliate link to help my build.
We will be using this welder for exhaust for both old corolla and 8th gen civic. No more exhaust leaks!!!
Stay tuned while I learn to flux weld and fix the corolla exhaust once and for all!
